The BBC decides not to air an episode of a David Attenborough documentary series for fear of a right-wing backlash. This and the fact that BBC News headlined with a football commentator’s opinion about a possibly illegal Tory policy this week instead of discussing a possibly illegal Tory policy shows that the BBC’s programming decisions are now made in Whitehall and not in Marylebone.
