1PM — A dutch video game developer, a greedy media mogul from England, the Soviet KGB, and the inventor of Tetris all get entangled in a wild story of politics, backstabbing, and contract breaching to secure the distribution rights of the game. I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected; it’s an entertaining film with a dense plot, fun and gripping.

The depiction of a country behind the iron curtain, here it’s the Soviet Union, follows a familiar pattern: Filmed using a filter that taints everything in a cold, blue hue, the landscape devoid of any colour, and there are never any trees.
